On the contrary, if anything helped depress turnout it was the constant demands that everybody lie and pretend the Republican base _aren’t_ a bunch of bigots. I think **you with the face** said it pretty well:

Garbage. They aren’t innocent bystanders, they’re complicit at best, they’re helping. As I said in another thread, they are the equivalent of somebody claiming that\* they\* aren’t rapists because all they did is hold her down while a bunch of other guys raped her.
