1. Season 4 was the best season of _Angel_. 2. Billy Joel is as good a songwriter as Cole Porter. 3. Store-brand 100% fake maple-flavored syrup is just as good as the real stuff. 4. _Mass Effect 3_ had a kick-ass ending. So did _Bioshock Infinite._ 5. Robert Jordan’s death was the best thing that could happen to the Wheel of Time books, and Brandon Sanderson is twice the writer Jordan ever was. ---

Property _is theft_ US slave descendants are owed _real_ money by the people of the United States. Any time anyone makes a statement that groups people along any ethnicity broader than a small population (say, nationality _at most_) they are being racist. (Yes, I’ve done this too, no doubt). And racial _is_ racist. #YesAllMen, actually. and possibly most disagreeable: In _Snow White and the Huntsman_, Kristen Stewart _was_ fairer than Charlize Theron. A lot fairer. ---

1. Religion is the #1 evil in the world. If you think that only Islam is evil, read about the crusades. 2. The only sport worth watching is curling. 3. The government should get out of the business of banning drugs. As an observer only, it is clear that the drug laws have done more harm than the drugs could. 4. Snowden is a hero. 5. Corporate taxes should be abolished. The customer pays them anyway, not the shareholders; they lead to all sorts of compensatory tax givebacks, mostly unfair; and they give corporations incentive to hide their profits, especially in foreign countries. ---

Really? Those things set you off? I am a big fan of Silvio Gesell’s and Margit Kennedy’s ideas about a monetary system without interest. Really fascinating and worth studying. Also, I am quite an experienced complementary therapist and have helped people overcome a cat allergy, a height phobia, and a crippling driving anxiety this week alone. All in one session each. ---

1. Most people, if you sat down and talked to them one-on-one, would turn out to be social liberals, but fiscal conservatives. 2. I’ll call you whatever pronoun makes you happy, but surgery can only make you _look_ female. 3. The death penalty is not inconsistent with the aims of a moral society. 4. Lots of words that people take grave offense to are really mildly offensive at best, and people need to learn to laugh at themselves and get over it. 5. **Cutthroat Island** is an underappreciated and visually awesome movie. ---

It doesn’t seem very democratic to leave it up to the moderators, though. We could introduce a version of the ostracism of ancient Athens. Every couple of months, a list of posters who have been pitted is compiled. Then a poll is set up in IMHO asking if any of them should be banned. Those who get enough votes against them are out, no further questions asked.
