It means don’t ingest the vehicle which extinguishes fires. Good advice imho. ---

I think it actually comes from a story told about Darby Crash. He was heavily intoxicated one day and seemingly bent on devouring a toy fire truck. Don’t recall why. Anyway, friends ultimately convinced him of the wisdom not to partake. Always seemed like a bit of good, random advice to me. It seems likely the story was told in _The Decline of Western Civilization_ (1981), but if not, then perhaps I heard it on some Public Access show with punks (_New Wave Theater_, maybe?) I like pjd’s interpretation as well. ---
