Post a unique, enlightening link or comment on a previous one. Here is a link to Roshambot: [http://chappie.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/roshambot](http://chappie.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/roshambot) It will beat you at Rock, Paper, Scissors. Read about how it does this: [http://www.ofb.net/~egnor/iocaine.html](http://www.ofb.net/~egnor/iocaine.html) The explanation is not for that exact bot, but for a long time winner of the Roshambot contest, “Iocaine Powder,” whose name I’m sure you all know is taken from “The Princess Bride.” You’ll know why when you read it. I don’t know. This is the kind of stuff that makes me happy to be alive. Hope you find it interesting. ---

I don’t believe in paranormal experiences, but I had one. Several months after a very close friend of mine died, I was walking across my living room when I suddenly stopped in my tracks and heard my friend speak to me in my head. He said, “Everything is exactly the way it’s supposed to be.” Somehow I knew that although the dead are not forbidden to speak to the living, there is a good reason why they generally don’t. I had to laugh, because Frank always was such a stubborn willful SOB. I have no explanation for my experience. I only know that it happened. ---

There is a website that advocates “setting books free”. You register a book that you like, put a label on it asking people to read it and pass it on, then leave it in a public place. Then the people who find the book can log in and post their impressions, as well as where they left it for someone else. [Bookcrossings](http://lwww.bookcrossing.com/home) StG ---

Well, I don’t know about _everyone_, but I found this interesting. Want to know what the world looks like where all those lines cross on your map? I did a search on “megaphones” on ebay (I work at a school) and this was one of the hits. The advertisement and descriptions are so hilarious! Obviously written by someone who doesn’t speak much English. And I love the cartoon man with the megaphone hanging around his neck–it hangs awful low! Anyway, for a laugh, check it out… [http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1770152500](http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1770152500) 😃 ---
