I guess you could use this logic about the 9-11 terrorist attacks. After all it was only a couple of buildings and a few thousand people who died. In the grand scheme of things a spit in the ocean. And yet it was used as a valid excuse to attack another country. Were you really in grave danger then? Were you in grave danger when an outpost in the Pacific was bombed before you joined WW2? Maybe from Japan, but certainly not Germany. Not at that time anyway. Even less danger in WW1.
I suggest that if you wait until you are in grave danger then it will be far to late to do anything about it, so any steps taken to avoid such a situation are prudent. All you guys are arguing over is a matter of opinion. Most say, on this board at least, that the US wasn’t threatened in the least from Iraq, others disagree. Some of those just happen to run your country.

I’m noticing an extreme dearth of actual arguments in this thread from one side (excepting the OP, who has a valid, if highly ill-informed point). I wonder why?
