I use pictures of my own and usually change them every week or so. Up until yesterday, [this one](http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a39/keylimepie630/cat%20pictures/warmbythefire.jpg) was my wallpaper. Cuervo warming the boys (while he still has them!) by the fire. InterfaceLift is probably my most-tapped source for desktop art. Currently running [this](http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper/downloads/00638_dimagepattern_1024x768.jpg) on a 23" Cinema Display. (I’ve developed a penchant for dry, minimal desktops—makes my icons pop more.) ---

I took a trip to the New England Aquarium a couple of days before Christmas. The first picture on [this page](http://www.geocities.com/mulderscreek/photos/fish.html) is currently my desktop. And yes, those creatures are the primary reason I wanted to go there…they have an alien beauty to them. **Baraqiyal** , is that fanart or a print ad I missed before I started watching the show? ---

When I log in as myself, one of (currently) [374](http://home.earthlink.net/~ahunter/Upload_Download/SampleOfDesktopPix.jpg)\* image files are randomly selected as my desktop pic. When I log in as root instead, one of a mere 6 images that mimic the default Apple background (abstract blue swirly hi-tech-looking items) are selected. Images are added to the pile from slide scans of my Dad’s old Argus-camera pix, my own digital pix, interesting fractal / pseudoMandelbrot froth created by my screensaver, and cool astronomical pix from the Hubble telescope. Plus a few Bryce landscapes I created when I was bored. - (sample; I’m too lazy to do things necesary to post thumbnails of all of them) ---

Mine is an original photo that I took on our recent trip to Paris. You can see it [here.](http://photobucket.com/albums/c197/DooWahDiddy/?action=view¤t=EiffelTower8effects.jpg) I used Picture It! to apply the “colored pencil” effect.
