So I’m a Reddit addict. There are some times when I will spend all day long there. Like today. And yesterday. In fact, it’s so bad that I have to limit myself how much time I spend there, otherwise I’d just constantly be on there and not ever visit any other page. It’s like TVTropes. You visit there for a minute and it sucks you in. So my current schedule is this: Browse/Read Reddit every two days, Browse/Read TVTropes every two days, and Browse/Watch my Youtube subscriptions every two days. I’ll then (usually) spend the next two days at each site, reading/watch subs and getting my fill of it until the next time. But anyway, I was curious…what are your subs there? Instead of just mentioning one or two that you think are good, I challenge you to just go to your “EDIT” or “Profile” page and copy the entire list of subreddits you keep track of and post it here for all to see. And don’t edit out those more embarrassing ones either. 😛 Own it, dammit! I have some rather weird ones that I’m a little nervous about some seeing and questioning… but I’m still gonna post it anyway, judgement be damned. Also, the full lists, I feel, would be interesting to see how many subs dopers have in common. For example, who ISN’T subscribed to MildlyInteresting? If you aren’t, I’m betting you’re in the minority. But not only that, it would give everyone else who is a Reddit whore the chance to see and learn about and look up NEW subreddits that they might enjoy and subscribe to. Anyway, without further ado, here is my list, under the spoiler, because it’s a long list (I also wonder if I have the longest subbed to list, as well…does yours beat mine?) 4chan Anticonsumption AskHistorians AskReddit askscience AskScienceDiscussion asmr aww badtattoos Bestof books changemyview confession creepy creepypms cringepics CuteFemaleCorpses dataisbeautiful DesignPorn evenwithcontext explainlikeIAmA explainlikeimfive FacebookDrama FacePalm FanTheories Fitness food FoodPorn forwardsfromgrandma funny gadgets gaming GetMotivated ghettoglamourshots Gore HailCorporate history IAmA ifyoulikeblank ImGoingToHellForThis interestingasfuck InternetIsBeautiful Jokes lastimages meirl mildlyinfuriating mildlyinteresting minimalism morbidquestions morbidreality movies Music nosleep NoStupidQuestions ObscureMedia oddlysatisfying OldSchoolCool OutOfTheLoop Pareidolia photoshopbattles pics shittyaskscience Showerthoughts shutupandtakemymoney skeptic snackexchange television thebutton theydidthemath tifu tldr todayilearned toosoon trashy TwoXChromosomes Unexpected usefulvids videos watchpeopledie Wellthatsucks whatisthisthing WhatsInThisThing whoadude worstof WritingPrompts WTF YouShouldKnow My top ten favorite ones that I think are the greatest of all time: 1. I apparently fail at Reddit (redditing?). I take it that the entertaining part is the comments but there are ususally thousands and who has time for that? ---

I won’t actually post this person’s name because I know him personally, but. . . I know someone who as a very old Jewish first name and very old Jewish last name. Nothing odd about that so far, but. . . This person is an (Asian) Indian. . . and has without a doubt the darkest complexion I’ve ever seen in my life. I honestly think I could see him in the dark at night. ---

The multi-branching style of conversation isn’t for me. Seems like it spawns a zillion rapid-fire tangents instead of much coherent conversation. It’s my real subreddit list. Some of those are not really active though. I don’t visit them all; I usually just read whatever’s on my front page. As far as being overwhelmed by comments, you can set it so only the parent comments are showing, then open any thread you want to read. Also it’s a lot better when you have an account (which is easy, you just put the name you want and a password, no email required) because you can prune out all the default crap and add what you want; and you can get the Reddit Enhancement Suite extension which makes everything better.
