# Potential power surge damage on a playstation

A very brief storm blew through here while the playstation was on. There was a _pop_ that shut the console down, but nothing else happened. The power and internet didn’t flicker, and the television and Roku plugged into the same surge protector are fine. But the console won’t turn on.
I’ve tried a different power cable and a different outlet, so I’m pretty confident it’s the system. Is there anything I can try at home or am I destined to thrust my fate into the hands of a repair service?

I’d leave it completely disconnected from power in the unlikely event a resettable fuse is the culprit. Give it a good 30 minutes.
