All technically correct.

But as long as we’re stuck on this particular rock, the only definition of when something happens that matters is when the light from wherever whenever gets here.

All accounts are saying that we would be in no danger, Betelgeuse being that far away.

That’s where we live now, but we were in Brooklyn when it passed by. We could actually see it, but I had the good fortune to be sent to a conference in Saratoga Springs. I got a very good look at it there.
