It’s a little weird to me that the 103-pound weight class isn’t all girls. Even as a scrawny and undersized sophomore, I bet I weighed more than 103 pounds. ---

That sucks - I wrestled in the 103 weight class my freshman year in high school. Every once in a while you’d wrestle against a girl, and usually they weren’t that good, but if you lost you were ridiculed. I remember one kid that lost to a girl didn’t even go to school the next day. It’s a lose-lose situation - if it’s a girl, you’re almost expected to go easy on her, not to hurt her, but if she manages to get the best of you, prepare for humiliation. And of course if you get an erection you’re really in trouble, though that’s not easy to do when you’re that worried. I’m just glad none of the girls I wrestled were that good - this girl probably would’ve kicked my ass. ---

I wrestled in high school and I would have had a hard time with a female opponent. Of course I was a 189-200 pound monster back then so I doubt I would have had to worry about female opponents. I wonder if we’ll start to see females competing in some of the mid-ranged weight classes between 140-168 and whether or not that would make it prohibitively difficult for them to compete with males. Good for the girls who are going out for sports like wreslting. If they can compete with the boys then more power to 'em. Marc
