[Died in his sleep from natural causes.](http://ew.com/movies/2017/05/14/powers-boothe-dead/) If you have to go, and we all do, it’s not a bad way. Damn, I loved this guy! One of the best character actors of his generation. Not many left like him. ---

Great, great actor. He was terrific in everything he did, but I especially liked his Philip Marlowe (in the 1980s HBO series). ---

RIP Mr. Boothe. I really enjoyed him in _A Breed Apart_ and in _Tombstone_. He did bad so good. ---

He was a memorable Jim Jones. I’m not sure that’s something an actor would want to be remembered for though. ---

Sadly apt, I’ve finally just watched “Deadwood”. The man played a slimy cocksucker psychopath effortlessly and I’d just got to the point where I’m thinking “is he never going to die from that gut-stabbing?” Sadly…now he has, but a fine character actor. ---

I first noticed him for his excellent performance in Southern Comfort, always figured he would get more high profile roles from then on, also thought his pairing with Keith Carradine in more movies would be a sure thing. Alas neither were to be. Rip. NB. I know KC played Hickock in Deadwood, but I don’t think they ever had a scene together. ---

But it turned out that his shadiness was due to having a mistress or something, and he was actually a good guy. ---

He not only played Jim Jones, he also played John Walker. (Family of Spies). Another ordinarily named sociopath. ---
