Some forms of Visine have Phenolthaline in there, which is a potent laxative. Do not try this for a prank. It can kill someone.

You mean Tetrahydrozoline HCl? Phenolthaline is used as an indicator for bases and is non-toxic AFAIK. You sure you’re not thinking of [Phenylalanine](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phenylalanine), as seen in Diet Coke? It can kill phenylketonurics, as indicated on the label. Peanuts can kill people too.

Right, I got my words mixed around- what panksters \*used to \* add back in my college chem days was **Phenolthaline** , which has been withdrawn from the OTC drug market by the FDA because of possible dangers- it used to be the active drug in Ex-Lax for example. \*\*Tetrahydrozoline HCl \*\* is in some eyedrops, and can be very dangerous to injest. Don’t add either one, _or anything else for that matter_, as a prank.

Sorry about the strong language, \*\*Czarcasm. \*\* Given the circumstances, I thought it was justified, sorry.
