Pravda recently ran a story about an anomaly in Antartica. The whole thing sounds like sci-fi to me. A search will bring up a whole bunch of similar threads. Evidently Pravda _is_ now the Russian version of The Weekly World News. Hey, they’re bankrupt, corrupt, and broken up. They need some fun. ---

that doesn’t even make sense… what the hell would the chronometer messure that would cause it to read like that? its not like you can read the time by doing messurements on the enviroment or something. ---

“Pravda” translates into English as “Truth” and “Tass” (the name of the other big Russian paper) translates as “News”. So, in Russian, there was a saying that “in Truth there is no news, and in News there is no truth”. At least, 25 years ago there was. There might not be anything new about the truth in Truth. ---

I suspected as much. The chronometer thing made me think more than anything else. Thanks!
