**Bricker** : just think of it as an early payment on the confiscatory, socialist taxes that are sure to be levied on those in your lofty bracket. Or maybe a hubris tax? ---

Technically true, and **Bricker** clearly could wait until then to do so if he chooses. However, I suspect the “Inauguration Day” clause was inserted simply to create a specific definition of who won, and avoid the inevitible arguments over who “won” if the election turned out like it did in 2000. ---

Bricker might be an insufferable ass about some things, but there’s one thing I will say about him that I’ve always appreciated and, yes, admired: he IS a man of his word… and that’s something you can’t hold against him. We may disagree on a hell of a lot of stuff, but at least we’ll always have Sondheim 😉 ---

I just want to say that I got a lot of support for my about-to-be-lost civil rights from **Bricker** in another thread, and he was exceptionally understanding about me blowing up at him in my emotional state. Oh, and he also bet me $1500 Elizabeth Dole would be reelected. Kidding. ---
