Well, I’d say me, but I’m no longer 35. In fact, most of the people I’d pick no longer meet the OP’s requirement that the person be 35. ☹

“At least 35” means 35 or older.

I was going to say Andy Cuomo. He worked with both parties to get a major civil rights bill passed in his state, thst is also an economic boon. He needs to keep his options open when he runs for re-election as guv so he doesn’t get stuck like his dad. Who, by the way, kept his campaign promise not to run for POTUS. Not many politician do that!

Maybe **Balthisar** is like Benjamin Button and ages backwards. So if you’d done this a couple of years ago and he’d run then, we’d have to deal with the Constitutional question: If you’re over 35 when inaugurated but drop below the eligibility age mid-term, do you have to resign?

I’ll go along with that. The one thing I am sure about is that she would not be as passive as Obama who is profoundly disappointing. There was a fascinating commentary in yesterday’s Sunday Review column. One thing he (a self-described Obama enthusiast in 2008) pointed out is that Obama has never run anything, he was an organizer, but never an executive. But there is more to that column, a lot more.
I supported Clinton until her “…as far as I know” remark. Then I fell off her bandwagon. I don’t think she would have won anyway, but that was disillusioning.
Since Obama will inevitably blamed for the coming depression (well maybe it won’t came; we can hope), I almost think it might be better to let a tea-partier do their worst for four years. Maybe people will wise up. Dammit, where is FDR now that we really need him? Is there an FDR on the horizon? But he would need a house majority and aa filibuster-proof majority in the senate to do anything.

Like a few of my compadres I will choose myself. Not that I’d be a good president, but at least I’d be honest about intending to loot the Treasury for my own enrichment, not to mention about starting wars to settle personal scores. I won’t cheat on my wife, though.
