I’m not yet quite in the age range mentioned in the OP but I’m old enough. One thing that hits me sometimes is when I see an interesting, has-it-together woman who is around say, 24 -28 years old and I sometimes cannot for the life of me untangle two opposing emotions about my feelings toward her. What is it I’m feeling here? Is it, “Wow! That’s a attractive young woman!” or is it, “She could be my daughter. I want to nurture and protect her.” Anyone else ever feel that dilemma? . ---

I think all right thinking people in this country are sick and tired of being told that ordinary, decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not! And I’m sick and tired of being told that I am. I’m 53 and I’m a lot less grumpy than I was at 33. I’ve outgrown it.
