Predestination: New Heinlein movie has been made [edited title]

I liked the movie, but what was the point of the time bureau manipulating events so that someone is born with no connection to the past?

It seemed to have no relevance to the rest of the movie.

The wife and I just watched this last night, and we both loved it.

I have read “All You Zombies”, but my wife has not. It was a real treat for me to watch her watching the movie and trying to guess where the plot was going and what the “twist” was. I also thoroughly enjoyed all of the bits of dialogue and little touches that were obvious enough to those familiar with the story, but hidden from those who would be watching the movie fresh - the lighter, the restroom signs over the characters’ heads in the bar, the lines like “I know the feeling.”

I thought it was one of the best and most faithful adaptations of a classic SF story that I’ve ever seen, far better than most.

And I’ll be keeping an eye out for Snook in the future; she was phenomenal.

Bumped.

All you Snook fans should check her out in the HBO series Succession, in which she plays the daughter of a Murdochesque media tycoon. She’s very good.
