Lets seeā€¦ could be **Long threads** ā€¦ **nope** , they havenā€™t all been long could be threads **noone was enjoying** ā€¦ **nope** , several of the ones he closed were being enjoyed by many people could be threads that were just rambling with **no ā€˜meatā€™** or viable discussion ā€¦ **nope** , at least ONE of the threads he closed had consistant waves of deep discussion, simply because it Was long enough for people to get comfortable to enter into difficult topics Could be threads that had **no participation** ā€¦ **nope** judging from the numbers, That wasnā€™t it Could be threads that **ticked people off** ā€¦ **nope** there are a lot of those still open Could be threads that **werenā€™t contriversial enough** ā€¦ **nope** those die on their own Could be threads noone invited **Uncle Beers** to participate in ā€¦ Wait ā€¦ Waitā€¦ Wait ā€¦ Wait ā€¦ I donā€™t see any counter example for that one!!! I think I HAVE it!!! Iā€™m predicting it will be any thread over 3 pages that hasnā€™t invited **Uncle Beers** to participate it!!! Naw, that CANā€™T be it ā€¦ Iā€™m sure that even thinking that was overly mean of me ā€¦ and overly arbitrary of me, as well. Iā€™m sure if we could just see it, weā€™d see a genUine pattern of goodness, for the over-all well-being of the boards and the best goodness and enjoyment of all, behind every thread that just got suddenly closed ā€¦ with no apparent reason or explaination! Iā€™m just Sure of it!!! Iā€™m sure it CanNot be that **Uncle Beers** was just personally bored of those threads and closed them just because he can ā€¦ Iā€™m sure it was to _spring us all free_ from feeling like we were Forced to check in on the thread and maintain discussions day-after-day ā€¦ as if they were interesting or important to us. Iā€™m sure it was to _Free_ us, so weā€™d venture out among strangers and expand our horizions among other posters, where we would not be forced to think in terms of ā€¦ for every one of us who were posting, there were 10-50 other people checking in daily to see where the discussion had gone! Iā€™m sure it was for the goodness of all ā€¦ just as Iā€™m _Completely Sure_ that **Uncle Beers** thoroughly _read every one_ of those threads, to see what they were about, and wheither _they were providing entertainment and discussion forum_ to members, before he slammed the door on them! Iā€™m sure he did what he did with full understanding of each thread and the people participating in them! I believe ā€¦ I DO Believe!!! I mean, After All, these boards Do Exist simply for the enjoyment of the folks who participate in them, either posting or reading them ā€¦ so Iā€™m SURE it was with the enjoyment of the participants that those threads got closed! [size1]_since, from what Iā€™ve read from folks far more in the know and more technical than I ā€¦ there are no technical reasons for closing them ā€¦ the hamsters no longer care how long a thread is_[/size] ---
