Almost every year that I can remember there has been a toy or gadget that everyone wnated but noone could find. Furbees, Tickle-Me-Elmo, Talking Elmo, etc. The simple and cheap toys or gadgets that somehow wind up on E-Bay auctions for hundreds of dollars in the christmas season. Does anyone have any predictions what it’s going to be this year? ---

Boy this seems like a question of _opinion_, unless someone has a lost palantir on their nightstand. In my opinion, it will be the Waverly action figure. Everyone is going to want one. ---

I bought 4 of them right after Thanksgiving and put 2 up for sale on eBay. One sold with one bid at my reserve and the other did meet my reserve. And my reserve was 7 cents more than I paid for them. There are over a thousand for sale on eBay as I write this and many will not sell. A couple of items on my shopping list did prove to be a challenge. One is the reissued Creepy Crawlers. It took 3 Toys R Us’ and 2 Targets to find one. And some of the Rescue Hero toys are in short supply. ---

I read in USA Today the other day that one of the hottest sellers this year is the 20th anniversary edition of Trivial Pursuit. No wonder my mother can’t find it. (It was on my list.) One of my coworkers works Target as a second job. He said he’s actually seen people return it, only to have the person behind them in line get it right from the service counter associate and buy it. They can’t keep it on the shelf. ---

The Spiderman Web Blaster is officially impossible to find anywhere here in town. My son wanted one badly, of course I didn’t take it nearly seriously enough. I have been laughed at by ToysrUs, WalMart and a few other stores here in town. Out of curiousity I looked on Ebay, they had quite a few at double the normal price. Being the good parent that I am, I laughed my ass off, closed the window on the computer and decided my son will be getting a lesson in disappointment this year. His birthday is at the end of January. I’m sure the 30 day wait will build character. (Besides, he is still young enough I can blame Santa) ---

I work in the toy section at a major department store. They’re called Bey Blades. I don’t know what they do/are because I’ve never seen them. We never have them in, and when we do, they get stuck out the front in a trolley and they’re gone in five minutes. Then I have to spend the rest of the day hearing “Do you have any Bey Bla…” “ **No!
