I picked 7am. I am not a morning person, but 7am would feel no worse than the current 8am, _and_ I’d get out an hour earlier which would make me happy. ---

I work a 4-day week right now, either 10-8 or 11-9 depending on when I get there. So, not sure how to answer the poll. ---

Surprised that the 10 am slot is the most popular. That probably stems from people thinking they have to stay at the office until 6 pm anyways. ---

6 AM or even earlier for me, please. The stock market opens at 630 AM anyway. I don’t like being at work during non-market hours. I currently work 8 AM until 6:30 PM 4 days a week. Hate to say it, but I’d rather have 5 eight hour days again. The extra 2 hours are brutal on Mondays. ---

I’d go with noon if I could, but that’s not especially compatible with the rest of world. ---

One of my neighbors works 3p-11p. That sounds great to me. Plenty of time to sleep in, no rush hour, and I can get off work in time to have a few drinks at the bar with friends if I want. ---

I’m one of the oddball other. I pretty much have my dream job already. Right now I start work at 5am and work through the day until 8 in the evening. Seven days a week. After a month, I take a month off. ---

I picked 11:00 AM - as a teacher, there are classes from 9 - 11, and the next actually starts at 11:30 AM. I had that 11:30 AM first class schedule one quarter and it was great. Could stay up late, get up without an alarm, have time to check emails, have breakfast, take leisurely shower and get to work in ample time. I hate mornings. Tomorrow I have a 9:00 AM speech class - hard enough to get the students to show up that early, let alone get them to talk. Takes all my energy to get them fired up. Plus, I then teach until 11:00 PM with one single two hour break. Killer day and same schedule on Thursday. ---

I set my own hours the last couple of years and never worked before noon unless I had no choice. It was glorious. It gave me the morning to get things done for myself if I wanted and otherwise worked with my naturally nocturnal sleep patterns. ---

Picked 7am, but I’d be happy with 6am too, as I naturally wake around 5am. I like being in earlier than most people, leaving earlier, and taking advantage of my morning-person-ness. Our current hours are 8-8:30 to 5-5:30, with a compulsory 1h lunch break. ---

If I could, I’d like to follow a progressive schedule, where each day I started about 4 hours later than the previous day. My daily cycle is about 28 hours, so this would match me perfectly. ---

If you have a family or like to go out at night, you’ll hate the 9pm finishing times. Otherwise, the fact that you’re on off-peak hours often works in your favor. Traffic is lighter, lines at the bank and post office are shorter, and you can get errands done in the morning before work without the business’ opening hours being factor.
