I may have to adopt a prehistoric creature, just so I can take it out on Friday. It doesn’t have to be a dinosaur, does it? Could it be a mastodon or a giant armadillo? ---

Dinner on Friday is a wedding rehearsal dinner, most likely. Would it be acceptable for me to bring a stuffed (toy) lobster? I think it’s the only prehistoric creature I have. ---

I don’t have any Prehistoric Creatures to treat, precisely. I _do_ have a mythical creature–a gryphlet who sometimes rides on my shoulder and collects his due tribute of food, mead, and odd looks–but I’m not sure he counts. Perhaps I will make the acquaintance of a Prehistoric Creature by Friday. ---

Not that I would be the official arbiter or anything, but it seems to me that, while slightly cheating, dinosaur-like non-prehistoric creature representations would be within the spirit of the holiday. 😛 That’s a pretty long sentence there. ---

Hmm, it appears that the local [saurischians](http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn106/3aaat/misc/PCDay.jpg) are intrigued by the growing chatter about Prehistoric Creature Day. The herbivores have quietly expressed some nervousness about the carnivores already wearing their party hats, apparently having started the celebration early. Those guys are notorious party animals, not known for their restrained behavior, to say the least. In fact, one of them just asked if **lizardling** is tasty. ---

I have a nice 8" T Rex, hand-carved out of Ash that will look good on my desk at work. If you don’t have a Prehistoric Creature for Friday, that’s okay. You can [Blame Someone Else](http://www.holidayinsights.com/other/blamesomeoneday.htm), and celebrate that way instead. ---

There’s a toy store near my office. I will have to hurry and adopt! It’s the company golf tournament (and dinner) on Friday, so my newly acquired Prehistoric Creature shall accompany me to dinner. We’re having the salmon. ---

I have it marked on my calendar on the fridge; unfortunately, we have a few choices of who to take, and none of them are going to be easy. First, we have [Mr. Smilodon](http://www.boneclones.com/BC-018T.htm), who managed to lose the rest of his body elsewhere. Then we have [Korall Blackfisk](http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20098468), who is [Sienna](http://picasaweb.google.com/nashiitashii/Sienna/photo#5181086528801064402)’s buddy; I’m sure that, in addition to him needing a wash to get rid of some of the drool, Sienna would not be pleased that we were taking her friend out to dinner and not her. Of course, I work a later shift on Friday, so this may be a moot point. I can’t bring Mr. Smilodon to work with me, and Korall Blackfisk probably wouldn’t like it either. ---
