Nice story in _The Honolulu Advertiser_: [Bush “Way Cool” at Thai AIDS Ward](http://www.honoluluadvertiser.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080809/LIFE07/808090316). So it was the president who went to the Mercy Center, while Laura went to the clinic up in Mae Sot.

I’m familiar with the priest who runs the Mercy Center, Father Joe Maier. Quite a local character. Drinks and swears like a sailor but has a heart of gold.
