Presidential poll

Hmmmm, seems I should check out this Browne guy.

Browne.

Harry Browne

Harry Browne in 2000!

You are only wasting your vote if you vote against your beliefs.- Doug Jones

Want: Svend Robinson.
Voting for: Alexa McDonough.

Gore all the way.

I prefer intelligent presidents.

Want: Bill Bradley
Voting: Al Gore

I think Clinton did a decent job in his eight years, and frankly, I’d vote for him again if I could. I voted for Bradley in the primaries, but my primary wasn’t until June 6, so it’s not like my vote really mattered. They’ve got to revise the American primary system.

America needs another President Bush like it needs another President Buchanan. I can’t believe the Republicans actually nominated this joker. I feel passionately lukewarm about Al Gore.

Nader.

“I would rather vote for something I want and not get it than vote for something I don’t want and get it.” -Eugene Debs

Gore.

I have this strange feeling that I’ve never EVER had before. I have this feeling that if GW Bush is elected President, something very, very, very bad is going to happen. I don’t know why, or how, or what…just a gut instinct feeling. I have geniune fear of GW Bush as president. The guy’s an absolute moron who waffles on pretty much every issue he’s ever “stood up” for. Not to mention I disagree with him on virtually every point he has. The only good thing brought about by a Bush election? I’d probably get a pay raise. (I’ll be a 2LT in the Army in June).

Jman

You know Jman, that’s precicely the reason I’m voting for Gore. I get exactly the same queasy feeling. The only silver lining I can find is that whatever disaster is looming in the wings should GW get the not is going to so damage the Republicans that he’ll be replaced in 2004, with even worse performance than his father.

(The weird thing is that I don’t get that feeling from his brother Jeb.)

Gore.

I’m with Jman and sliv, I’ve got that same bad feeling about Bush. If he wins I will seriously use that as one of my reasons for possibly holding off moving back to the States. It’s just a gut feeling.

I’m definitely with Nimue, sliv and Jman. Little George also puts me off in the same way, and I don’t feel as nervous about Jeb Bush (though I’m not too keen on a President Jeb, either.)

I’m no fan of Reagan and his legacy, but this Bush really, really, really bothers me. In six weeks or so we’ll know for sure who’s taking over, and I hope beyond all hope that it won’t be Bush. I have no qualms with voting for a Republican, necessarily, but this Bush just gives me the worst of vibes. Beyond my not approving of nearly anything he stands for, there’s an intangible distrust of Junior that I feel in my gut.

Ralph Nader.

I personally prefer presidents who aren’t corrupt sleazeballs, which is why I won’t vote for Gore.

We both know that Browne isn’t going to win, regardless of how you or I vote. There are a lot of Libertarians, and those inclined to be Libertarians, on this board, but in real life we aren’t nearly as plentiful.

Yes, I know that my voting for the D/R lesser evil just makes this situation worse–believe me, that doesn’t make me happy. If there was a hope in hell that Browne could win this election, or even just take Pennsylvania, I’d vote for him. But under the circumstances, I believe I have to limit myself to the two candidates who can actually win–this leaves me with one I don’t like and one I detest, so I’ll go with the one I merely don’t like.

Want: Bush
Vote: Bush

Want: to stop seeing “Bush/Cheney” stickers on the senior lockers at school and move out of this pushole of a state… oh, wait, not what you asked. Nader.

Voting: I’m not. But were I voting, it’d be Nader.

Gore: 10(37%)
Bush: 7 (26%)
Browne: 5 (19%)
Nader: 5 (19%)

First, I really like the idea of this poll, but its only going to work if we keep the debating out of this thread, and start another for it.

Second, for those of you who are voting for Nader. Please, please, please do your research and examine the Green parties platform, don’t just react to the 2 party system.

My Vote: Gore
Main issue: upcoming Supreme Court Justice appointments

assuming I get off my ass and register soon

Harry Browne

Harry Browne for friedo

Ditto. Echo Jman’s words too.
