Not all that much. The discussions I saw all discussed the sexuality of the character, but few called it porn.
But the photo shoot published in Playboy, even though done on the sets of the film, lacked that context and today would probably be far, FAR over the line.
As for the movie, I think one reason there was no uproar at the time was because people were distracted by the presence of a nude Susan Sarandon. Those people not turned on by barely pubescent girls, once they were able to reel their tongues back in their mouths and push their eyeballs back in their sockets, said, “Brooke who?”
