# Pretty, durable, LAWN...in LA, Relatively cheap. Any ideas?

I got an ad in the mail for this Zoysia stuff, but I researched it and this company in particular, not so great, although I’m reading mixed reviews on zoysia grass itself.

Going for the full sod thing is just too costly, so what I want is something that I can do with plugs that will be kind of invasive and tough. But nice. Tolerates some shade, some traffic, some pets.

So…what’s the Straight Dope on lawns?
