A friend sent me this email and I thought it interesting. An article in “Autoweek” magazine addressed the issue of high gas prices and how people were complaining about the rising costs. What if you were to buy a gallon of . . . Diet Snapple 16 oz for $1.29 = $10.32 per gallon Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz for $119 = $9.52 per gallon Gatorade 20 oz for $1.59 = $10.17 per gallon Ocean Spray 16 oz for $1.25 = $10.00 per gallon Quart of milk 16 oz for $1.59 = $6.32 per gallon Evian (water) 9 oz for $1.49 = $21.19 per gallon STP Brake Fluid 12 oz for $3.15 = $33.60 per gallon Vicks Nyquil 6 oz for $8.35 = $178.13 per gallon Pepto Bismol 4 oz for $3.85 = $123.20 per gallon White Out 7 oz for $1.39 = $254.17 per gallon Scope 1.5 oz for $0.99 = $84.84 per gallon You get the idea. So next time you’re at the pump, be glad your car doesn’t run on Nyquil or Scope or White Out! Thought I would leave it up to you Math Wizards to figure out your own liquid of choice. Don’t know about you guys, but somehow I find the gallon of Pepto Bismol more disturbing than the gallon of Nyquil. Here’s my contribution: 20 oz. gas station cappucino for .69 = $4.42 a gallon. Not bad, I guess. ---

A petroleum research company, John S. Herold, Inc., made the following comparison in a press release last Friday: “One gallon of gasoline equates to an average of 20 miles. However, one gallon of Coca-Cola provides enough energy, or calories, to walk at a comfortable pace for only 14.1 miles. Meaning, one gallon of gasoline allows you to travel 42% farther at a one-third lower cost!” ---

And the heavyweight winner in the candy division _is_… _Certs Powerful Mints_ at $100 a pound. 50 mints per package doesn’t justify this- they’re still trying to squeeze $1.50 out of you for a **quarter-ounce package**.
