# Prime Day 2022

It’s Prime Day once again so I’m here to start my annual thread about it. Anyone find anything good?

The only difference I see in this year’s Day is that they have [real Apple stuff](https://smile.amazon.com/stores/page/6AF02E0D-7107-462D-98AC-D8D09E7EE60C?ingress=2&visitId=3dfed42e-cd83-45ea-a95d-4dc0e27c7882&ref_=ast_bln) on sale, which I don’t think has ever been a feature in the past. No iPhones on sale as of yet. They do have [Samsung phones](https://smile.amazon.com/s/browse/?ie=UTF8&node=23995912011&field-enc-merchantbin=ATVPDKIKX0DER&suppress-ve=1&ref=dlx_prime_gd_dcl_tlt_3_334e5592_dt_sl7_59) on sale.

They also are pushing small businesses this year. Sale prices do seem to be substantially discounted right now, on name brands. Instead $1 or $2 off some off-the-wall electronics item I’m seeing 20-30% off brands I’ve heard of before. I just picked up calming chews from [Zesty Paws](https://smile.amazon.com/s?k=zesty+paws&sprefix=zesty+paws%2Caps%2C75&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_1_10) I had shopped for previously.

I had some floating shelves from a no-name brand in my “save for later” list. In the list it said they were $38. I clicked through to the item and they were $30, apparently just for another 15 minutes. Amazon fucking with me? Probably. But I was explicitly saving them waiting to see if there’d be a Prime Day deal so I bought them.

Some other special notes about Prime Day:

- You have to finish it by tomorrow but if you do all the stuff to fill out your [Prime Stamp Card](https://www.amazon.com/cer/stampcard/home) you get a $10 reward
- If you have an Amazon Prime credit card, rewards are 6% today instead of 5%. Try not to use any gift cards, points or cash back today. Save them for another time and get your full 6% back.
- Use the site [camelcamelcamel.com](https://camelcamelcamel.com/) to see if the item you’re considering is ACTUALLY on sale or fake on sale (as in, it’s regularly cheaper they just inflated the price today).
- There’s usually some pretty good deals on [Prime Video](https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Video/b/?ie=UTF8&node=2858778011&ref_=nav_cs_prime_video) on Prime Day. There might be some newer movie you meant to watch that you didn’t want to pay $10 for, that is only $3 to rent today. You can also get access to some streaming channels for 99 cents a month for 2 months. Great deal if you want to binge a show but don’t want to pay a lot to do it.
