# Prison Break returns tonight!

I’ll watch. It was mildly entertaining, and it’s a lead-in to “24”. I hear that
Some of the inmates will escape before the season is over, and next season will be kind of like the last half hour of The Great Escape-- focussing on how those that do get out have to evade re-capture.
Did they ever explain how the two brothers ended up with different last names? I assume there was a divorce and two different fathers involved.

Michael’s father was “out of the picture” before Michael was born, and he took his mother’s maiden name. They never explicitly said that the two have the same father but since “they have different fathers” is a much simpler explanation than the “out of the picture” business, presumably if they have different fathers the writers would’ve just said that.

Help me make sure I remember where we were.
It’s night time (after 9:00 pm?). Linc is in the infirmary. In the room below him, the gang (Michael, DB Cooper, T-Bag, C-Note, Michael’s cellmate (I forget his name), and… anyone I’m missing?) is in the storeroom below, stymied by the freshly-installed ductwork. A guard has heard something and is on his way to investigate.
How much time is left before Linc’s execution?
What’s the current situation with Linc’s girlfriend, his son and the lawyer dude? Are they still outside talking to the media? I can’t recall.
I hate these 4-month hiatuses.

Michael’s cellie is Sucre.
Veronica is I believe still in an alley watching Hale (the less-evil Secret Service agent) getting shot by Kellerman (the more-evil Secret Service agent). The other lawyer is I think in a hospital recovering from getting shot by the now-presumably-dead most-evil Secret Service agent a few episodes back. The son, LJ, is hanging out at the hospital too I think.

I actually liked this series. I only have seen a few eps, but like them.
My confusion is where, as mentioned above, the show is going.
“The Great Escape” was mentioned, but I have qualms about this arc. Escape is about escaping, not just the prisom camp (the Prison Break part), but getting through and out of Germany , which is what would constitute an “escape.”
I know I’m being real nitpicky, but it is not to be snarky, I have a reason. If the show is about a prison break, then when they get out, the story is over. The break has happened. So, if they continue the story, we are now into “Prison Escape.” Are they going to retitle the series?
Are they going to go to differenty story arcs as the escapees spread out and try to avoid recapture?
This, to me, would amount to a sort-of rewriting of the whole concept, with the attendant perils associated with launching a whole new series. I don’t know if this will work.
I’ve seen lots of TV series where the whole thing changed so as to better follow real world timelines, and they just petered out.
I hope this show goes on, I am not slamming it, I’m just saying I have my doubts if they can pull this off. What do you think?

I’m glad FX network had the Prison Break marathon on yesterday, so I could get back up to speed.
BTW, does any one know how many episodes are left in this “season”? I think I have heard 3 or 4 episodes. Damn you FOX!

Holy SHIT! 9 more episodes.
I read part of an interview with on the shows creators. He said it’s only planned to be two season show. I can see two seasons. This one they actually do break out in the season finale and then season two is them on the run.

Now that _Prison Break_ is on back-to-back with _24_, it’s only the _second_ most implausible show on tonight.
Doesn’t look good for Linc. I have to hand it to the writers, either (1)his execution gets delayed by some event that I am totally unable to anticipate, or (2) he gets executed, which I totally do not anticipate. At least they’re keeping me guessing.

By the way, if you don’t want to be spoiled, don’t read this week’s _Entertainment Weekly_ with the PB cast on the cover. Sheesh!
On the plus side, it looks like they have the rest of this season and season 2 all mapped out. They don’t expect it to go on any longer than 3 seasons at the most.
