There does seem to be a consensus forming, but it’s apparently not the one you were expecting. My sister’s 2006 Prius – 120k miles, mostly city driving, no battery problems at all.

But she needs snow tires in winter. It’s bad in snow using all-season tires.

I’ve complained about that before. No traction? Cut power to that wheel. No traction on the other wheel? Cut power to it. More than once I’ve been applying the accelerator pedal while stopped and the car is making not a sound.
