One of my go-to websites won’t let me post comments. I have no idea why. I want to log in with a different user name, but cannot.

When a access the comment page , it shows my user name and lets me enter text, but when I click the button, I’m told I should log in or refresh the page. Doesn’t work. As far as I can tell, I’m already logged in. There is no provision to log out. There is no “contact us” link. I have tried four different browsers, but no cigar, the same thing happens. I’ve heard that a website can identify a computer by certain technical means. That sounds right. Is there any way to defeat this, maybe by deleting something on the computer?

Try deleting cookies and cache. On Chrome you’d go here:

chrome://settings/siteData

Search for anything with your target website’s name and remove it.

Ad blockers can sometimes mess with things. **Riemann’s** suggestion of deleting cookies is the best place to start, but if that doesn’t work, turn off any ad blockers.

Another quick test would be to try with a different browser.

Also try private browsing.
