Large pot of chili and too much cayenne pepper was added. how do I calm this down? ---

You can add a lot of liquid and then drain all of it off. Restore the liquid with beer, water, whatever, and re-season the remaining chili, but probably not with more cayenne or other hot peppers. ---

Warn everyone ahead of time. Add more tomatoes. Got any tomato paste. Thin it out with water and some lemon or lime juice. Add to the pot ---
