I’ve got a generic DVR through my cable provider (NOT a TiVo). It’s a Motorola DCT 6416 III, FWIW.

I can program it to record an entire series, and have done so with multiple series. Apparently, I can also program it NOT to record a certain episode of a series if I don’t want it to. For example, Monday’s Dr. Phil looks boring, so I can press a series of buttons to make it not record that episode.

Problem is, even after I program it not to record a certain episode, it programs it anyway.

Anybody know how this can be overcome? It’s not a really big deal, except when the memory starts to get full - then I have to be more selective about what records and what doesn’t.

TIA

I have similar issues with my DVR. It is a dual-tuner and I have noticed that if 3 programs are scheduled for the same time it will insist on recording 2 of them. So for example if you have programs A, B, C and tell it not to record A it will record B and C. Tell it not to record B and it will record A and C and so on. This only happens when 3 or more programs are scheduled. If it’s just 1 or 2 it works as expected.

That probably didn’t help much. Sorry.

Interesting.

If two programs are scheduled at the same time, and I 86 one of them, it won’t record. But if only one program is scheduled, and I 86 it, it still records.

The plot thickens…
