I am a type 1 diabetic and, frankly, it is a pain in the arse. However, my brother in law is epileptic. I’d rather be diabetic. ---

I’m glad I don’t have kids. I like most kids I’ve met, so it’s not that, but having to be responsible for the care and well-being of a helpless, impressionable human 24/7 is completely beyond my psychological and financial resources. ---

I’m glad I had father that loved me, still loves me and never had a mean thing to say about anyone. I’m glad he loves my mom and they are still together (I’m glad my mom has stuck with my dad, despite his chronic depression) I actually feel incredibly lucky and even a little guilty acknowledging this. Many people I know don’t have fathers in the picture or never heard “I love you” coming from dad’s mouth. It hasn’t been until fairly recently that I felt fully appreciative of my dad’s love and affection… ---

I’m glad I don’t own any pets. I generally like animals, but cats and dogs kept inside your home will destroy your home, it’s value, and general appeal to visitors. ---

Estranged from family, ADD, severe depression BUT: I’m physically healthy, and have a job that I absolutely love. And a housekeeper that keeps the overall destruction caused by my live-in animals to a minimum. ---

Many of the ones that sprang to mind when I saw the title have been mentioned. I am not afflicted by: - lactose intolerance - gluten intolerance - migraines (I’ve had two in my entire life - I can’t imagine getting two a week or more!) - allergies to critters - allergies to foods - major physical health problems Great, now I gotta go be all grateful and shit for a while. ---

Just the other day, I was talking to my friend about my issues with my body. Then I said “But you know what? At least I don’t have a butter face.” Because my body can be whipped into shape, but if you’re born with an ugly face, there’s not a whole lot you can do about it. ---

I feel really lucky that I can pretty much buy whatever groceries I want. I don’t have terribly expensive food tastes, but I think it must suck to have to be really careful in the market, or to have to eat on the cheap every day because there’s just not enough money to buy everything I want or need. ---

It’s fairly severe in my right ear, a cousin fired a .22 cal. revolver about a foot away from my ear. My left ear is about half as bad. Accumulative nerve damage over many years, from lack of hearing protection and being a carpenter/working in the construction industry all of my life. ---

I’m glad I have never had any family issues. I love my family, and though there have always been ups and downs (and I have lived in a separate country to them for the past ten years, which probably helps a bit) we have always gotten on really well together with no dramas whatsoever. For most of my life I could say “I’m glad I don’t have to deal with gaining weight” but that has very recently changed, which is unexpected and annoying. ---
