Problems with a Crow

If all else fails:

Quoth the covid “Cough, cough, cough”
Oh you said corvid, never mind.

We had that issue at a parking lot with lots of tree islands. Blackbirds attacking people coming/going. It took some time to figure out, but it turned out they were angered by articles of black attire.

Snort.

Offerings often help. Peanuts in the shell. Unsalted.

We have ravens, they now recognize us as friends. They cheerfully clear away dead lizards and the like, and the eat the mice with relish… and the pickle relish is 100% optional.

Yes.

Sorta, anyway.Try some peanuts.

I saw this one on the Dick Van Dyke show. I think the solution was a pith helmet.

It’s a bit of a pricey solution, but you could get one of these. Maybe attach it to your pith helmet.

A number of years ago, our next door neighbor’s dog was being mobbed by some crows. Finally, one got too close and he actually caught it and then proceeded to eat it! They left him alone after that. Maybe you get one of those nets ornithologists use to capture birds, capture one, and kill it in view of the others (you don’t have to eat it, at least on the spot).

Crows are a federally protected (species) under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.

US federal law doesn’t apply in Canada, where @Spoons is being attacked:

I am sorry, where did Spoon indicate that?

Spoons lives in Alberta.

Indeed I do.

You didn’t answer my question.

I am sorry, where did Spoon indicate that?

Where did Spoons indicate that he lived in the US, as you appear to have assumed?

I’ve indicated that I live in Canada over many years here at the SDMB.

If he was an 'Murican he woulda whipped out one of his handy six-shooters and massacred the goldurn crow. Problem solved,

We’ve had one cat hassled by Steller’s Jays, also a sight bird with a good memory. They left the other cats alone. In Australia, the attacking magpie is a big problem.

The whole situation sounds Kafkaesque

Offer them bird quaaludes.

And they will avoid them…

Unless you have to…

Short story. Yep.

I had a Crow Problem. Whacked one (one of the best shots I’ve ever made!), hung it on the fence, dead, by his feet. The Murder circled around for a couple days, then left. Never seen them again in my yard. I see them flying, and they stay waaaay clear of my place.
