Well, it’s 10:41pm now, and I’ve decided to change my essay topic. The essay I have to hand in tomorrow is now going to be about Neanderthals, and the evidence for them being a separate spcies from us. That is, assuming I don’t change my topic again. Don’t worry, I’ve done this sort of thing before. ---

I’ve got a 7-10 page term paper to write for philosophy, and I don’t even know when my biochem final is. THe paper is due mon morning, so if my biochem final is on Monday, I’m screwed! (b/c I haven’t been to biochem since the last exam, as usual) woo hoo! and it’s 8:40AM… I CAN’T sleep! ---

You all are giving me the shivers I start grad school again in the fall and I know the nightmares about unfinished projects will begin around August 1. Then again it cannot be as bad as undergrad classes were - My last term paper on “sand dunes” sucked and the department head let me know it too though I still managed a 3.5 overall gpa by the end of my sentence at WMU. Now you guys get back to work and do not open internet explorer at all! ---

Well, I’m trying to think of some more brilliant things to say about deceit, religion, and ethnicity in Ariosto and Tasso, but since I already have nine pages and some notes I’m not too concerned. What _really_ worries me is the paper on medieval alliterative poetry that’s due in a couple of weeks; I don’t even have a topic at this point, and the professor doesn’t seem to like any criticism that has been written after 1960 and isn’t about linguistics. As I don’t know much about linguistics and do not possess a time machine, this is beginning to look like a problem. Oh, and there’s also the final exam for the Czech class I decided to take in a fit of madness, not to mention 38 of my own students’ final projects to grade. ---

Before May 13, I have to read three papers, implement the algorithms they suggest, compare them and possibly make a paper out of it. Also, I have to do a litereature search for Unsupervised Speech Recognizer Training. And ofcourse read them too and make an informal presentation before May 13. And here I am on SDMB, listening to Hysteria. ---

Well I have three years worth of past exam papers. Half of that’s due in tomorrow, the other half on tuesday. I have maybe a quarter of it done ATM… ---

You will think things like “Oh Boy! It’s Summer! i guess now i can take intensive latin. . .” “Oh Joy! Christmas Break! now i can revise that prospectus without having to teach discussion section. . .” Welcome to HELL! Right now I am not pulling togather a bibliography for the exams I have to take in August to be ABD by Fulbright application time. It took me 8 months to study for my minor exams and I haven’t even started reading and I think I am doomed. Mblackwell- what’s your art paper supposed to be on? ---

I’ve got two large research papers due this Friday. Right now I’m on a business trip/vacation in San Diego, and won’t be home until Thursday night. I’ve got all my sources here and a little lap top computer to work on, but I have no idea when I’ll actually work on them. I mean, I’m on vacation!!! Maybe it would have been smart to write them before I left… ---

I’m supposed to be doing a program in Java that finds and displays the shortest path between two cities (in a small map). Not sure if I’ll ever actually get around to it–I don’t need that class to graduate. 🙂 ---

I have a paper about the novel _Humphry Clinker_, by Tobias Smollett, due at noon tomorrow. It must include references to at least two secondary sources. I haven’t written a word of it, but I have read some critical essays about the novel this morning. I have a major paper in microeconomics due on May 10, and a test in that class this Thursday. I have a fairly difficult C++ program to write by Thursday, with a README file due on Tuesday. ---

In fall semester I did my internship for my Writing minor, only since I didn’t get the requisite number of hours in, I got an incomplete. I finished the actual internship part of the intership in winter, and now all I have to do is write a two page reflection letter about what I did and what I learned doing it. Two pages. Two freaking pages. I’ve not written a word. This two page paper is technically 5 monthes late. I might try to work on it tonight. For my Art major I had my Senior Art Review in the Winter semester. It includes putting up a solo show, taking slides of your art, giving a presentation to the art faculty, and then writing a summary of What You Learned and putting everything together in a portfolio. The show is over and done with, the slides are taken, the presentation went swimmingly. I just have to write the summary. There’s no state page requirements, but I’m sure they’re not expecting more than a page or two. Another two page paper. Haven’t written a word. This is also technically incomplete, because winter semester ended mid-April. I’m thinking of starting both papers with: “This experience taught me a lot of things. And stuff. Things and stuff, mostly.” ---

Ugh. I’m facing my first “C” or maybe even not passing final class grades, ever. I have structures homework due Tuesday–I’ve been working on it for a week and it still isn’t right, so it’s getting turned in half-assed. I have two finals on Tuesday–one Materials final from j\*ck-\*ss know-it-all jerk teacher who wants to nail us to the wall with his tests, the other a thermo final, and I don’t know how to study because the tests are never anything like the homework. Then I have two more finals, one on Wednesday, one on Friday. Haven’t started studying for either yet. ---
