Products meant to last

I offer as a rebuttal to your comment the 1977 Dodge Aspen/Plymouth Volare. One of the worst built American cars of all time. Chrysler almost went out of business because of these cars. The AMC Pacer was considered a better buy.
I’ll offer Radio Flyer wagons. I have 2 of them, one from the 60’s and one I bought new in 1980. Both survived my children and now my grandchilren are playing with them.

Skil brand worm-drive circular saws.

Stihl chainsaws. Never, ever, has giving me the least bit of a problem. Cold, altitude, snow whatever. 2-3 pulls, always works.

Craftsman hand tools. I know there are better ones, but I have always had good luck with these.

Leatherman multi-tools. Even if you do something stupid with them (or lend them to someone who does something stupid with them, grr) and break a blade, you can send them to the maker for a cheap repair.

Except:

every car built by AMC in the 70’s
Ford Pinto/Mercury Bobcat
Chevy Chevette/Pontiac 1000
Nearly EVERY car built by Chrysler
Chevy Vega/Pontiac Astre
Back to the OP:
air-cooled VW Beetles - the cockroach of the car world, can withstand nearly every kind of torture you can think of
