**Happy last day of irk, swampy!** Yay on the house, **rockin’**! They are mid replacing the floors in the main break area now. They’ve been at it for two weeks and it’s a mess. The main break room has been closed, as well as the adjoining quiet rooms, restrooms and lockers (I have to leave my phone in an insulated lunch bag with a blue thingy to keep from frying it in the heat :eek: ), so the company has set up a nacho bar for us today in one of the auxiliary break areas as a “thank you for your patience” gesture. The cheese ones are pretty decent. 🙂 ---

There was a clip on the local news today about someone who fell for the notion that the IRS was going to settle with them for a mere $3,000 in iTunes gift cards. Ignoring the people that are being scammed for a moment, what are scammers doing with thousands of dollars in iTunes credit? Is there some way to redeem iTunes value for cash, or are they just buying thousands and thousands of songs? If the IRS listens to music at all, it’s probably on cassette tapes, judging by the apparent vintage of their computers. Ooogg… not looking forward to the continued Borg-ification of me next week. Just have to remind myself that resistance is futile and v-fib is fatal. ---

Howdy Y’all! Pre-retirement vacation has begun. YAY! Yes, I needed a vacation to rest up for retirement. 😃 OK, my official last day is July 29th but I have no irk equipment on me and even though I could access irkstuff from my home puter etc, I ain’t even so as far as I’m concerned I am through. **MOOOOOOM** should have read the email. I am secretly a Nigerian prince who has $100,000,000,000.15 in Nigerian pounds sterling lira in a bank in the States of the United America. **Rockin’** congrats on officially bein’ your own landlord. This evenin’ I get to grill hamburgers for the [del]spawn of Satan[/del] little angels at VBS. They get to go swimmin’ and run around outside like the yard apes they are. Fun times ahead. ---

**Congrats Rockin’ on the house!** \*\*YAY! for last day of work Swampy! I kept thinking your last day was the 29th, I forgot you got to leave early. I’m so jealous. \*\* I took a nap and now I feel more alive. This has been a slothful week. I have to pick a day to go get a blood test. I have to fast 6 to 8 hours before the test. I first heard 68 hours before the test, if I did that somebody else would have to drive me over, walk me in, and carry me back out. I need some lunch. ---

I’ve been havin’ trouble with teh intartoobz and my landline off and on the past couple of weeks so I called AT&T this afternoon. Supper was cod, green beans, and corn. Neither of us was very hungry, so there’s corn leftover. Which means this weekend, we’re going to have deep fried corn on the cob - just like we used to get at Woody’s BBQ! YUM!! It’s official - \*\*FCD \*\*will have surgery again next month and the doc will put more metal in his back. Three in one year is a new record for him! But he’ll have 2 full months to recover before our cruise, which is good. On the down side, I don’t have enough leave for vacation and for his surgery, so I’ll need to work some extra hours of comp time. What a pain in the patoot… ---

He hated that song, so naturally, we kids learned all the lyrics!) Next up: it was a dark and stormy night… and The Fellow asked me to go roll up the windows on the truck, because he forgot. No worries, I run outside with the keys, sit in the driver’s seat, and close the door - because it’s pouring rain. Roll up the windows, then back down a half-inch for air flow. (There’s a little overhang above each window, and we never leave the windows all the way up in July. Because it’s south Georgia.) Mission accomplished. Try to get out of the truck. Fumble around for the door handle for at least a minute - can’t find it. Start groping overhead for the map light. No joy. Begin wondering whether I’ve had a stroke, because really? I finally escaped. And that’s the true story of how I got trapped in my own vehicle in my own driveway! :smack: The girls want spaghetti for dinner. Easy enough. But we’ve become rather Spanish in our dining habits lately - substantial afternoon snack, and start the real cooking after the sun drops behind the trees, and supper around 8:30 pm. ---

I hate being one of a very few adults in my training class. Aside from all the socializing and goofing off that’s got me more than a little worried about whether we’ll run out of class time before we run out of NEEDED material to learn, I really did NOT want to hear some of the 20-somethings discussing strip club visits. ---

Did another double and doing one again tomorrow. Our volume yesterday was 144,000 ---- today was 113,000 (the big item today was Instant Pot ---- which caught my interest until I figured out it was some kind of pressure cooker) and tomorrow is expected to be about the same. Cop wasn’t letting her go, but was kind enough to ask for now-in-labor daughter’s address & radioed for an bambilance to be dispatched there. Neighbor’s doorbell rings; it’s the bambilance crew; “Okay lady, hop on the stretcher”. Neighbor - “WTF? Who are you & why are you here?” As she knew nothing of the traffic stop at this point. :smack: P.S. Can you guys keep a secret? Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 74 Amurrkin and cloudy out with a predicted high of 92 and scattered afternoon tstorms. We shall see. Today’s plan includes awaitin’ the arrival of telephone man, some spiffin’ of da cave, and maybe mowage although that is more likely to happen next week. TGIF!! What a productive morning so far! I emptied the dishwasher, packed myself a good lunch, tended to the critters, filled the car with gas, and cleaned the windshield and back window. 😃 Now that I’m at the office, I need a rest! 😛 Hot weekend ahead, so I don’t expect to venture forth.
