Any and all programmers know the feeling: You’ve just hunted down an elusive bug in your code, nalied its digital ass to the wall, and watched as your program suddenly started working. I have just had a multiple prograsm. In lieu of standing up and shouting, thusly disturbing the rest of the CS lab, I post here instead.

No real point, other than to note that this truly is comparable to my few, far-between, fumbling meatspace sexual encounters.

Oh, yeah, go me. Soon, the post-prograsm depression will kick in, and I’ll wonder why catching this sucka took me so farking long, but for now, I relax in cyber-afterglow.

Ah yes, the prograsm. Heard of it, but never had one myself, never having compiled anything. However, I have had a pagegasm, when I finally got my HTML coding right, and all the meta tags, hyperlinks and images fall into place. Unfortunately, I can’t make any comparisons as to intensity or duration.

I heard Mac coders have **multiple** prograsms, which are also generally more intense than those PC coders experience. Can anyone back this up? And where does Linux fit into all this?

Bah. Mine’s not working.

Although, perhaps, the frustration could be comparable…

The feeling of joy you get when you finally get a program to work is nothing compared to the feeling you get when you finally figure out _why_ it’s working. Fortunately, this doesn’t happen to me too often.

Er, that is, it’s very rare that I have a working program that I don’t understand. Not that I have a hard drive full of beautiful mysteries.

Even us old-timers still have the occasional prograsm…

Yep, there’s nothing like getting an entire jobstream full of **COBOL** programs to play together in perfect harmony.
What??

😉 🆒

Ugh. I hate the word “meatspace”. That’s always struck me as a word people use to try to show everybody how “digital” they think they are. I think that’s the only word I hate more than “Information superhighway”.

But then, I hate _all_ buzzwords.
