I have a website project that I’ve just started. It’s generated a little interest, but I want to be able to promote it a little more. I don’t want to spam e-mails, message boards or newsgroups. What are the best ways of getting the word out? ---

What’s the target audience? What’s the content? you want to get the word out in places where those people hang out or interest in that content is the highest. What’s the URL? ---

Wihtout buying space the best way to drive traffic is linkswaps from sites with a similar focus. No doubt about that at all. Alternately buy yourself on of those cheapie links on Fark. God knows they’ve got the traffic.
