# pronounciation of rummikub

What is the proper pronounciation of the game rummikub? I pronounce it to rhyme with cube, and my wife’s pronounciation rhymes with cub.

I seem to remember that they used to have a line over the “u” in “kub” to indicate a long “u”. Does anyone have an old box around? Here’s the [Rummikub Home Page](http://www.lemada.com/).

Oh, I’m probably thinking of “Husker Du”. None of the Rummikub boxes on eBay show diacritical marks.

I’m afraid I don’t have an official answer, but we always just called it “Rummy Cube.” It made sense to me, as it’s sort of like gin rummy with little blocks.
