# proof of pigeon babies existance.

I read the first article about this topic in the the straight dope in book format about ten years ago. I was then very excited a few months ago when pigeons nested on my neighbors window sill. The definitely leave the nest full size.

great photos. Nice to have close access to the chicks. I see they were also two. I wonder if that is a very common number for them.

Yes, it’s usually two, although in the last couple of batches we had, one egg was unfertilized.
