Now, Wally, even without the obvious point that labeling him King of Trolls is an insult to trolls everywhere, I would not characterize John as a troll. Rather than someone who will say _anything_ to get a rise or a reaction on an MB or NG, John actually believes 99.9% of the drek that he posts. (More’s the pity.) I think he shares with trolls a need to be validated (note how he starts lots of threads calling for people to agree with him and rarely actually reads (if he can) any opposing viewpoints), but I don’t think he posts just any old thing simply for its value in producing a reaction. * * * Tom~ ---

Just wondering if there was a thread or a set of threads that would give a quick run-down on John John’s (and/or sock puppets) activites that have exposed him for who he really is. * * * Voted Rookie of the Year in MPSIMs and the Pit, along with Best One-liners. And I don’t plan on keeping this as my sig for long, just until the winning buzz wears off. ---

I hadn’t even considered that before, TomH. But no, I don’t. The Serlin personalities were evil, bigotted, hate-filled creatures not even worthy of my scorn. John John may be annoying at times, but I don’t think he’s a bigot by any stretch of the imagination. ---

Good point. It’s just that the only other people with whom he agrees, or who agree with him, tend to be his sock puppets. There’s also the fact that Mark Serlin had a rather more polished prose style. ---

UncleBeer, then it’s obvious you missed the infamous Khazar discussion a couple years ago on AOL, when John repeatedly posted things that had a decidedly anti-Semitic tone. He made fun of kashrut, and basically said that anyone who keeps kosher in the 10th century is an anachronistic idiot (guess we should all go with the flow and convert to Christianity, right?). He consistantly quoted web pages that espoused bigoted thoughts, and when knocked for repeating these things, he would reply: “I’m not anti-Semitic, my wife is half-Jewish!” Great. _Kol haKavod._ ## I also find his anti-English remarks to be not only insulting but patently ridiculous.
