So now we’ve gone from delusional me completely making shit up to the actual examples of yelling (one of which, of course, is bolded as well, so you can’t claim the caps were merely emphasis) just not counting, rather than not existing in any possible way. I guess “more than once” is now not “repeated”, either. How did I guess you would instantly move the goalposts? ---

Unless **Ensign Edison** is trolling or stupid, neither of which I think is likely, he’s working from an erroneous premise (courtesy of ProtectMarriage, the lying bastards): Barack and Michelle Obama _personally_ feel that a marriage is supposed to be between a man and a woman, for life. However, they do not believe that this translates into a divine mandate to restrict others from their legal rights, as do the “Christians” of Yes on 8. Obama is on record as saying that GBLT Americans deserve equal civil rights, and access to an institution (civil union, I think) with equal rights to marriage. ---

Allow me to further elucidate, to a degree it astonishes me to find necessary: - Yes, “two” is technically “repeatedly,” in that the word or action has been repeated, albeit once, but “two times” is not what is generally understood by the word “repeatedly.” If you doubt this, feel free to ask around, keeping in mind that mileage does vary by planet. - Capping an occasional word is an accepted alternative to bolding or italicizing when giving emphasis to that single word – as opposed to all-capping phrases, sentences, or posts, which is generally understood to be yelling. It is not actually that hard of most people to distinguish between the two. Again, feel free to ask around, though again MVBP. - I’m at a loss to know what you’re talking about by saying “one of which, of course, is bolded as well,” because I know you cannot possibly be talking about the fact that I capitalized “I” when using the first-person singular – a word that is always capitalized in that use, and I mean always, unless you’re ee cummings or don marquis and let’s face it, you’re not, both of them being dead. Since I must explain – must I explain? Really? – I bolded that word because capping it adds no emphasis, because it’s already capped. - I certainly can “claim” that the word YOU was all-capped for emphasis, because that is in fact the reason it was all-capped. Full stop. If and when I begin yelling at you – or screaming or shrieking – believe me, you’ll know. I have just sent the following letter to my senators and congresswoman. Regarding marriage: It has become clear since the federal Defense of Marriage Act was passed over a decade ago that marriage, both as a word and as an institution, is in large part a religious matter. I would be grateful if the government would articulate why it is in the business of licensing marriage, and separately why it grants special rights and privileges to those who have a government-sanctioned marriage. As a gay Californian, my state has voted that I not be allowed these rights and privileges. I understand that I am not a member of a protected class, and that discrimination against me is legal. I question, however, the wisdom of assigning special rights and privileges to people based ultimately on a religious sacrament not available equally to all members of the citizenry. In short, please remedy the injustice. Either grant gays the right to marry, or mandate civil unions rather than marriages for all, or end the government’s interest in marriages altogether. I’m sure others could have expressed this better, and I hereby invite you all to try: wherever you live, if you’re in the U.S., please write your representatives and tell them how you feel about this nonsense. ---

Right this second, apparently the Prop has still not been called, as there are enough uncounted ballots to tip it. That being said. there is a candlelight vigil going on RIGHT NOW around the Sacramento capital building (and in SF too, I guess). They are also drawing “Yes on 8” folks. Wish I could be there. ---
