It was a very bad drug for me when I was prescribed it as a student, the first pill I took lead to a suicide attempt an hour later, I had been stressed but not suicidal up to that point. The method my young self chose was laughable in retrospect but it was very determined and quite serious. Amazing how a little pill can alter everything so quickly, luckily this one seems to hit the positive column for most people.
I tried it for migraines. It did not work, but they couldn’t play around much with dose.
I’m glad it’s working for you!
I’m on a much higher dosage of the medication than anyone else responding here, and neither libido problems or insomnia have ever been a problem for me. If anything, I think I sleep better with the medication, and I do take one of my two daily capsules at bedtime. (I’m female, and I’ve been taking propranolol daily for over ten years). I do take the long-acting formulation - much easier when you’re at the dosage I am.
I was prescribed propranolol for stress-related headaches some years ago. They worked fine, I only took them as needed, and I occasionally will take one if I have an important presentation or a wicked hangover
