That’s the banner on CNN right now. Story [here](http://abc7ny.com/reports-of-person-climbing-statue-of-liberty/3705327/). Looks like a protester has climbed up the outside of the Statue of Liberty to the top of the base or Lady Liberty’s feet. ---

Controlling the situation by removing variables would also have to be consideration. In the after action report after something went badly wrong, it’s usually easier to defend actions that err on the side of caution than it is to defend inaction. ---

It’s just too bad someone can’t manage to instead climb the Statue of Freedom atop the US Capitol and swap out that ridiculous head-dress looking helmet that Jefferson Davis insisted on instead of the original design of a [Phrygian “liberty cap”](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phrygian_cap) and all its freed slave symbology. I’m only sort of kidding. ---

I went to the Air & Space Museum annex at Dulles the summer it opened. It was either on my birthday, or very close to it. Made a special trip; flew down from Boston in the morning, had my return ticket for that evening after the museum closed. I was kinda surprised that there wasn’t a shuttle van from the terminal to the museum, but a cab was fine. Had seen about half the museum when the whole place was evacuated. Some protesters had sprinkled ashes on the Enola Gay. Erring on the side of caution can be a real pain in the ass. ---

The “causes” of the Left are beyond reproach. Whatever their means to get issues resolved in their favor are justified. Lying, cheating, stealing, destruction of property, injury and even death to their opposition, police or even innocent bystanders are all well within the bounds of getting their way. How dare you even consider your inconvenience to be relevant?! ---
