I’m clearly outnumbered by immoral, cheating, lying, stealing people who will do anything it takes, and spin their position into whatever contorted shape neccesary to validate their ridiculous position. I GIVE. It’s completely OK to fake a DIVORCE to GET WHAT YOU WANT (Even though the OP has since conceeded this action would be wrong, and has admitted this is NOT AT ALL what she meant in the first place). So go on with your lying, cheating, government sucking logic defying positions/ As for me, the Gov’t could dissapear NOW and I would not be impacted in the least - from a healthcare, income, substinance (insert whatever here). ---

These quotes are an interesting juxtaposition - you keep maintaining that this action is illegal, but you have no proof of it, and when asked, you resorted to the above list of insults. To summarize **mattmorgan64** ’s views: Stealing music is okay, but stealing bread to feed a starving child is not, and lying to the government is worse. You’re an inconsistent hypocritical insulting junior mod. BTW, about that whole “evidence” thing. You’ll find that this place is different from the rest of the internet. Here on the SDMB, we’re not 16 year olds in chat rooms, for the most part. So we argue on the basis of facts, and facts that can be proven. Claiming that “it’s obvious” doesn’t count, since it’s often not. Insulting people instead of coming up with proof just demonstrates that you’re probably not smart enough to get along here. Let’s look at the other side of the coin, shall we? What about all those seniors who live together-don’t marry- so that their SS bennys don’t drop? Those scum! Living a lie and an unsanctified one to boot, just to get their retirement benefits…this country has gone to hell for sure. Next stop is communism fer sure. There really aren’t enough :rolleyes: for this. Frankly, I think the OP needs to consult a good divorce attorney and also read up on Medicaid etc. Maybe you don’t understand– **her husband** would be getting the bennys. Surely you are not saying that he doesn’t deserve them? What, is it his time to die–just like dear old Mom? You’re all heart, **Mattmorgan**. Would you rather she put her husband’s picture on a can and trolled for change at the local 7-11? I give her credit for logically looking at all options. There are too many **AuGratins** out there–our social service network sucks in this country. And most likely, her not doing this may end up costing US, the public, more in the long run. ---

I would lie to the girl scouts, **Contrapuntal**. I would also lie to the pope, the queen, and probably to the AMPAS. I have lied to my mother (I wasn’t on the phone asking about homework), my children (candy alone does not rot your teeth), and to my best friend (orange really is not her color). I won’t get music without paying for it, though. That’s just _wrong_. 😉 ---
