Funny, I don’t think we released any of the 9/11 hijackers pending sentencing. And they had a far less extensive support network in the USA. Perhaps we should have a DOJ policy against releasing convicted traitors and terrorists on their own recognizance. ---

Do’h!!! Yep none of those survived to be arrested, much less released. Although there were some ground-based conspirators later arrested and “stored” in Gitmo. They were who I was trying to talk about. Sorry to asplode your head with my crappy writing. ---

It wouldn’t surprise me to find that he took his own life, under the notion that he’d rather be dead than in jail. ---

Christopher John Worrell, 52, of Naples FL is the disappeared guy. I don’t think he’s taken his own life. I think he’s found a hole to live in, in hiding, for as long as he can. Just like Osama BL did. Now, as the authorities close in on him, that’s when he might take his own life. ---

I’m guessing he was probably going to end up with less than 14 years, before the disappearance. Now, it will likely be _at least_ that long. ---

Reread the article. The judge held the director of the city’s Department of Corrections and the warden of the DC jail in contempt of court for failing to do as the court instructed and had to order the US Marshals Service to take possession of Worrells medical notes so they could go forward and approve the surgery because the jail was doing nothing to fix the situation that they were causing. They were sitting on their asses for half a year instead of signing the paperwork for his surgery. They jail’s management had already failed to follow the courts instructions to fix themselves. On the plus side, when he’s caught the two years he spent on house arrest doesn’t count as time served on his sentence, if he’d remained in jail they would count. House arrest is still imprisonment, but it’s a funny kind of imprisonment that doesn’t count as imprisonment for time served. Them’s the rules. And I’m pretty sure the government is going to get the 14 years they were going to ask for, and he’s going to be facing fresh charges of fleeing. ---

That assumes of course the insurrection that time succeeds. Which it might if people more competent than the “proud boyz” are in charge of insurrecting. ---
