I really didn’t like the Sybil character; she smokes, eat chocolates in bed, does what she wants to do, is bossy, and is really mean. But it worked! The show wouldn’t work without her comebacks and her looks of disgust and amusement and disdain. Today, there’s an old man wandering around in his southern English seaside hotel wondering why his day is now so quiet and so disorganized.
