Yay! Going Postal has just come out. Synopsis from [amazon.co.uk](http://amazon.co.uk): Moist von Lipwig was a con artist and a fraud and a man faced with a life choice: be hanged, or put Ankh-Morpork’s ailing postal service back on its feet.It was a tough decision. But he’s got to see that the mail gets though, come rain, hail, sleet, dogs, the Post Office Workers Friendly and Benevolent Society, the evil chairman of the Grand Trunk Semaphore Company, and a midnight killer. Getting a date with Adora Bell Dearheart would be nice, too.Maybe it’ll take a criminal to succeed where honest men have failed, or maybe it’s a death sentence either way.Or perhaps there’s a shot at redemption in the mad world of the mail, waiting for a man who’s prepared to push the envelope… Looks good. I can’t wait to read it. Except I can’t afford it yet. ☹ But I get paid on Friday, and I’ve reserved a copy at my local Waterstones. 😃 Don’t expect me to be around Saturday, I’ll be too busy reading. 😃 ---

My copy arrived yesterday. Typical as im busy with a pub sports league on Tuesdays. Read a chapter this morning before work and it’s looking promising. The inside cover of the book is wall to wall Stamps of Ankh Morpork. I’m gonna go incommunicado tonight and read this bad boy. ---

I read it a couple of months ago, and I really liked it. It reminded me a little of _The Truth_, mostly in the way it was AM-centric but with no mention of the Watch. Some neat ideas running through it. I’ll have to wait for it to come out n paperback before I buy it though. ---

Does Anhk-Morpork need snail mail now it has the clacks?\*\*\*\*\* I came to Pterry quite recently and rather than buy a couple of dozen books in quick succession I’ve been relient on the local library\*\*\*\*\*\* to feed the habit. Up 'til now they’ve been very quick to get the latest offering, here’s hoping. Maybe I’ll just have to cough up for this one 🙂 \*\*\*\*\* Only kidding I know the clacks are v. expensive. \*\*\*\*\*\* I think someone there is a fan, last time I was there I saw five copies copies of Weird Sisters alone. ---

He mentioned that he had a copy of GP that he _hadn’t got around to reading yet_ :eek: so I was given it for one night only. Managed to get hold of \*Night Watch]/i[ in the same way. And, funnily enough, _Lionboy 2_. The three sweetest words in the English language really are Uncorrrected Book Proof. ---

I’m a Pratchett fan. He’s one of the few authors that I regularly buy the hardcovers. Looks like I’m going to the mall. ---

Friend of mine did some freelance work for a paper and happened to mention this book to someone there. Since none of their regular book reviewers knew anything about Pratchett or Gaiman, they let him do the review. ---

Apparently, \*\*Going Postal \*\* is a well-kept secret here in greater DC. I went to Olsson’s-no copies. Borders–nothing. Waldenbooks–bupkes. I haven’t yet been to B&N, but it’s looking like online might be my best bet. ---

Its certainly available on Amazon. I love our local Waterstones. The lovely lady agreed to reserve a copy for me, since I don’t get paid till Friday. I think she recognised me as the local Pratchett geek. ---

**gobear** , I got it at Barnes & Noble, after striking out at Borders. They had a big stack on the table right up front. I’ve noticed that Olsson’s takes forever to get new releases put on the shelves unless they’re by a Major Author®, so I don’t even try them anymore. ---
