Arnie - My post was meant to be lighthearted; I don’t let the popularity stuff bother me. Just had to join the bashing for fun. I choose not to spend a great deal of my spare time on the SDMB, so don’t expect to show up on anyone’s list. Some posters are more into it than others – I understand that. I scroll down the topic titles to see if any of the subjects interest me – I don’t select according to the poster. I couldn’t even say that I have a favorite poster. ---

I have been on the SDMB, both here and on AOL, for three years now. “Most Popular Posters” threads have come up intermittently since then, and I have never made the list even once. The way I look at it, from the savaging I was subjected to when I responded to fat chicks comments, I figure I’m on some hate list. Plus, currently there’s a few out there who think I would like to wipe out the ‘lower class’ because I agree with voluntary, paid sterilization. It’s nice to know I’m in good company here. At least I’ve not been kicked off of the board yet, though the monitor did close down one thread when it got real hot and heavy. * * * Mark “Think of it as Evolution in action.” ---

I always said bluntly what I thought, never caring about the consequences. I’ve had to keep quiet from time to time. But for instance when it was obvious at my last job that more than half of us would lose our jobs, I immediately switched to that system for the remaining 3 months. ---

When I saw this heading, my little heart leaped with joy. I too had never been mentioned on any ‘favorite posters’ list, and it just felt so nice to find a collection of similar people to chat with and share my misery! Hey, we could start our own conspiracy - the next time one of those popularity threads starts up, WE invade IT (just as certain favorites have invaded here), and add a little excitement to the boring thing – bash some of the favorites - especially hanson. Only trouble is, this would take some time, creativity, wit, planning, and coordination – none of which, apparently, we are good at. We’d probably just end up getting thrown off the SDMB. Oh well, it was a thought. ---

Hee hee hee, just found out that I didn’t make the “Most Hated Posters” or “Posters You Want To Marry” lists. So, although my popularity seems to be rising, I still don’t feel that I’ve reached my full SDMB potential. Sycorax is right, we do need to plan these things better. It’s not too late! We still have until Thursday to stuff those ballot boxes.
